Apples to spare? Hate the waste? We’re collecting apples to make into West Oxford Apple Juice.
The plan:
We collect apples from across West Oxford and deliver them to Rupert Griffin, of Oxford micro-enterprise Tiddly Pommes. He creates a pasturised blend, labelled especially for us.
Anyone donating apples will get first refusal on buying any juice produced for £2.50 a bottle (normal retail price £4.00 / bottle). The 20% we get from Tiddly Pommes for free will be donated to our friends at the Oxford Food Bank.
This will only work with a reasonable haul, so please tell your friends and neighbours – the more apples, the better!
Take part:
-
When your apples are ripe, pick your apples (no windfalls please)
-
Email us to let us know you will be dropping them off, with the variety and rough weight, if either of those details are known
-
Read our guidelines here for how to drop the apples in a covid-appropriate manor on our website before you bring them to the drop-off point
-
Drop them off at our local collection site during one of our advertised slots – or we can collect if you have a big haul (get in touch to arrange)
-
We will deliver your apples to Tiddly Pommes, and let you know when the juice is ready
