Saturday Nov. 6th is the Global Day of Action around the UN COP26 global climate conference. There will be a rally in Broad Street from 230pm where we will be joined by our MPs, council leaders, climate campaigners, and many others.
Many attendees will gather at 1pm at Manzil Way Gardens on Cowley Road and march at 1.30pm to a rally in Broad St.
FOR WEST OXFORD/BOTLEY RESIDENTS, AND THOSE COMING FROM OUT OF TOWN BY TRAIN, members of the community will be walking to town together, creating an informal ‘feeder’ march from Botley into town. Expected leaving times roughly as follows:
-
- 1310 Depart Elms Parade Botley
- 1340 Depart WOCA, Botley Road
- 1400 Meet others coming from out of town by train and depart Oxford Station
- 1415 Arrive Carfax to meet with main march from Manzil Way
- 1430 Arrive at Broad Street
On the day, please call Kim on 0790 352 4502 if you can’t find the group.
PLEASE NOTE: local residents have notified police of planned route and timings (via a phone call with Inspector James Sullivan 03/11/21), and the understanding is that this will be a peaceful and law-abiding walk, sticking to the pavement. LCWO is supporting the march by publicising the route and putting out a call for volunteers to help with informal stewarding.
People will be joining marches and rallies in hundreds of towns and cities – more people acting for the same cause on the same day than ever before.
