This day of mindfulness offers an opportunity to come back to the present moment and acknowledge our feelings about our precious planet and the climate crisis. By learning to stop and take care of ourselves we can become more resilient and effective in our actions. We will enjoy deepening our experience of connection with Mother Earth through sitting, walking, and eating meditation. There will be a bring and share lunch, please bring a vegan/vegetarian contribution. If you have a special diet please bring food for yourself.
Chairs are available, please bring your own mat and cushion or mediation stool if you prefer to sit on the floor. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a blanket.
This teaching and practice is given in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh by experienced Dharma Teacher Vari McLuskie. We are inspired by the practice of Engaged Buddhism, which combines spirituality and social action, pioneered by Thich Nhat Hanh. “If we understand the Earth as a living, breathing organism, we can heal ourselves and heal the Earth as well” – Thich Nhat Hanh.
